Instructions

The time is finally here. Please follow along with the instructions below. You can ignore the paper instructions found inside the Tasso box.

This test requires overnight fasting (typically 8 hours, you can drink water during the fast, but not coffee or tea). Also please don't exercise right before the test, since it may impact your results.

Also, if you have hair in the sample collection area on your arm is longer than a grain of rice, trim or shave it.

Let's do this!

The sample collection device

Most people report the use of this device to be nearly painless.

1. Get a timer ready and move next to a mirror.

A phone or watch will do the trick. Any mirror will do. This will help ensure the sample is collected properly.

2. Rub your arm quickly and firmly just below the shoulder.

Rub until it's very warm to help with circulation. Wax on, wax off :)

3. Clean your arm with the alcohol pad where you will place the device.

If hair in the sample collection area is longer than a grain of rice, trim or shave it for the device to adhere properly. Then clean your arm with the alcohol pad.

4. Open the pouch with the device by pulling apart the white and clear layers.

5. Remove the clear plastic cover over the red button.

6. Peel the paper tab behind the red button.

Keep the sample pod pointing down.

7. Stick the device to your cleaned shoulder.

Don't remove the device once it's on.

8. It's time to press the big red button!
Press the button quickly and firmly, as far as it can go, hold for 2 seconds, then release!

We use a micro-lancet that makes a small prick. Most people say it is nearly painless. You can do it! 💪

9. Start a five minute timer.

Keep your arm at your side and watch the dots fill up. You won't see the sample right away.

10. Wait 5 minutes or until blood appears at the bottom of the pod, whichever comes first.
Use your selfie camera on your phone or a mirror to keep track.

Pay close attention. Depending on the individual, the sample can be fully collected in as little as 30 seconds.

11. After 5 minutes or blood appears at the bottom (whichever comes first), you can peel off the device.

There's no trick to it, just peel it off. Apply a bandaid provided in the kit.

12. Peel off the clear film on the front of the device to expose the sample pod vents.

This will allow the sample to dry out for shipping.

13. Place the device in the gray-colored foil bag and seal it.

Leave the moisture packs in the bag. The foil bag is the really shiny one ✨

14. Place the foil bag in the Tasso box and seal with the strip.

You don't have to do anything with the temperature sensor (TempU) attached to the box. If it's detached or no longer adhered, simply put it back in the return box. This sensor helps us monitor the temperature of the device and sample during transit. A blinking red or green light means the sensor is working properly.

15. Put the Tasso box with the temperature sensor in the white-colored pre-paid return bag and ship it back.

Return your sample any day of the week. Check your kit box for the pre-paid return shipping label to confirm your carrier (USPS or FedEx). You can drop off your package at any USPS/FedEx location or arrange a pickup directly with the carrier. If you cannot ship the collected sample right away, store it in your freezer until you're ready to ship it back.

16. Fill out the online sample collection form 🔗 immediately after collection.

Don't forget! We can't process your sample without this information and individuals who complete the form later are unable to accurately recall the required information which impact your recommendations. [Tap here to access it]

17.  Drop off your sample at USPS/FedEx locations or schedule a pickup with your carrier

Send us your sample back any day of the week by dropping it off at a USPS or FedEx location (check your return label for your assigned carrier). Schedule a pickup: USPS pickup or FedEx pickup.

NOTE: if you are planning to ship your sample on a different day, please store it in your freezer.
